ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಯಂತ್ರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ

ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವ 30 ಸೆಕೆಂಡುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡುವ ಯಂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಜರ್ಮನಿಯ ರಿಸರ್ಚ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಫಾರ್ ಜಿಯೋಸೈನ್ಸಸ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಪವರ್ ರಿಸರ್ಚ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್‍ನ ‘ಶೇಕಿಂಗ್ ಟೇಬಲ್’ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜನವರಿ 18-19ರಂದು ಇದರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿ 20 ರಿಂದ 25 ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳವಡಿಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯಾಣ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಕಛೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದನ್ನು ಆಳವಡಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು 200-300 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಪನದಲ್ಲಿ 5 ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ 30 ಸೆಕೆಂಡುಗಳ ಮೊದಲೇ ಅಲಾರಂ ಬಾರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ ಲಿಫ್ಟ್, ಗ್ಯಾಸ್, ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಮತ್ತು ನೀರಿನ ಸರಬರಾಜನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

When we make a comparison between the two, we notice more differences than similarities. India at 90th rank in terms of energy security, access: World Economic Forum

India  has been ranked at the  90th place in a list of 126 countries compiled by World Economic Forum (WEF) on the basis of their ability to deliver secure, affordable  and sustainable energy, which was topped by Switzerland . The latest  Global Energy Architecture Performance Index  Report, explored the energy architecture of 126 countries based on their ability to provide energy access across three dimensions of the "energy triangle" - affordability, environmental sustainability, security and access. The list was topped by Switzerland followed by Norway and Sweden in the second and third place, respectively. Others in the top 10 include France (4th), Denmark (5th), Austria (6th), Spain (7th), Colombia (8th), New Zealand (9th) and Uruguay (10th).
